222

I am too tired to post about this, but I wanted to put something here to remind me to write. I went to see James Blunt on his birthday (February 22), and MAN was he phenomenal. Expect to read a long, drawn out, moment for moment update of the entire concert experience. Those of you who do not enjoy James Blunt, (what the Hell is wrong with you? He's amazing!) you can go ahead and ignore my next post because it'll bore you to death. Those of you with enough taste to recognize real talent, hang in there. I'll be back soon!

Big Gifts Come In Little Letters

I have been given a gift, one of the greatest gifts anyone can receive. You cannot buy it online or in a mall. You cannot wrap it in a box and put a big bow on it. You cannot hold it in your hands or wear it around your neck. Though it is not visible to the eyes, it is very visible to the heart.

I have been given forgiveness. True, pure forgiveness.

For Valentine's Day, my husband wrote me a heartfelt letter describing how he had been refusing to let himself even think of forgiving my unforgivable act. He felt that if he forgave me, he had to forget what happened. Let's face it: that is impossible. Neither of us can forget what happened, nor would I want to. It has shaped me. It has shaped us. It has changed us, definitely for the better. We know how to communicate with each other, how to support each other, how to be with each other.

I am truly blessed. I will not forget the second chance I have been graciously granted.

I Pray

A friend of mine is leaving tomorrow. He's being shipped to basic training for a little while, and then he's going overseas. He's going to Kuwait or Iraq, or both. I'm not sure, but I don't think it really matters. He's going overseas, which means he won't be here.

He's going to fight for the freedom of Americans. For my freedom. For my son's freedom. That means he'll be a target. Maybe not a big one where he is stationed, but still a target. It means there is a chance he could get hurt.

I pray. I pray every day that he will be safe. He is smart and skilled, and I am sure he will be fine. But I still pray.

God speed, friend. You will be missed. Come back safely and quickly.

F**king A$$holes

One of my jerk-of-a-kids stole my cell phone. My $250 cell phone. The cell phone that my husband bought me for my birthday. The one with over 20 pictures of my son and many adorable videos that I can never get back.

A$$HOLES!!!!!

Small Victories

Almost 7 pounds in a month. 1-2 inches lost in every area. All this without dieting. Oh yeah, that's a nice little victory!

R.I.P. Rodney

At about 7:10 in the morning on Monday, I found out that I had lost one of my students. He was stabbed by his half brother on Friday night, and he died at the hospital Saturday morning.

Rodney was a bright spirit. He was always making others laugh. If someone was upset, Rodney could cheer them up. He had a tough first semester at school, but he was improving quickly during second semester. He was a polite young man--he wasn't the type of student who cussed out a teacher when he grew angry. If he was removed from class, it was due to his overly playful disposition.

I dreamt of Rodney all last night, and his face continues to flash through mind. Any time my mind wanders, it wanders to Rodney. Such a senseless act of violence, ending a promising life much too early.

The world has lost a beautiful soul. The saddest words ever spoken were "might have been."

Rest in peace, Rodney. We love you and miss you. You're an angel now. Spread your wings and fly. I will see you again when it is my time to join you.

Eli! Eli! Eli!

That's right, Tom Brady. You are no longer perfect. Shove that in your pipe and smoke it!

Oh, and Bill--you're a complete a$$hole. Walking off the field before the game is even called? Wow, what sportsmanship. Sore loser, are we?

Who cares? Peyton did it in 2007, and Eli followed in 2008. That's right people. History has been made. Nothing can stop the Mannings.
